Chapter 4

Jeremiah 23:25-32 "I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.
How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.
The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.
Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.
Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD".

The scripture warns that God's word is like a fire and a hammer that breaks rocks in pieces, and He is against prophets who steal His words and prophesy false dreams.

Zechariah 10:2 "also speaks of idols speaking vanity and diviners telling false dreams, leading people astray".

Many people believe that if they dream of being pursued by evil spirits or people, it's a dream from the devil. However, this is not necessarily true. Such dreams often reveal our spiritual condition, indicating whether we are protected from evil or if there's an open door in our lives that needs to be closed.

Characteristics of dreams from the enemy include:

• Draw you away from God: A dream from the enemy will often distract us from God's character, nature, and will.
• Brings division: Dreams from the enemy often create confusion, strife, and division among believers.
• Encourage you to disobey God's word: A dream from the enemy will often prompt us to act contrary to God's word.

In conclusion, dreams from the enemy are designed to deceive and lead us astray from God's truth. By recognizing the characteristics of these dreams, we can discern their source and resist the enemy's tactics. Let's seek God's guidance and wisdom, testing every dream against His word and asking the Holy Spirit for interpretation.
