Job Purpose:

• The Engineering Manager – Global Operations (Nitrates) provides strategic leadership and oversight of all engineering activities across Nitrates operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or BTech in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent)
• GCC (Government Certificate of Competency) required, with proven experience as a GMR 2(1) legal appointee
• Postgraduate qualification in Engineering, Management, and/or Business is highly advantageous
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in process or plant engineering within the chemical and/or mining industries
• At least 5 years’ experience in a senior engineering management role within a heavy manufacturing environment
• Experience in explosives manufacturing and management of utilities is essential

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the engineering strategy aligned with Global Operations objectives
• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams to build capability and ensure effective succession planning
• Provide technical leadership and specialist expertise to support production, maintenance, and process optimisation
• Plan, execute, and govern capital projects to enhance plant capability, capacity, and operational efficiency
• Ensure adherence to approved budgets, schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements across all engineering projects
• Promote and embed a culture of zero harm, ensuring all engineering interventions prioritise health, safety, and environmental compliance
• Act as a key interface between Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, and Project teams
• Develop, implement, and monitor KPIs covering engineering performance, project execution, asset reliability, and cost control
