Job Purpose:
- Support daily catering operations by assisting with food preparation, serving of meals, cleaning, stock handling, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and clients.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 11 or Grade 12 (Matric)
- Previous experience in catering, hospitality, food service, cleaning, or customer service will be advantageous
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic food preparation and meal service
- Serve food and beverages in a professional and friendly manner
- Ensure dining, kitchen, and service areas are kept clean and hygienic
- Wash dishes, utensils, and catering equipment as required
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating stock according to company procedures
- Support cash handling and point-of-sale activities where applicable
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene, health, and safety standards
- Assist with setting up and clearing dining and serving areas
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer requests professionally
- Perform any additional duties required to support catering operations
