Operations Officer: Planning - ENER19297

Minimum Requirements:

  • N6 (Electrical Engineering), Qualified Electrician
  • Valid Code C1 Driver's Licence
  • 2 years' experience in similar environment with knowledge of Electrical Distribution Networks

Core Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organise all the duties of the drawing office
  • Update existing and new development network plans to ensure constant availability of critical data and reference
  • Attend to queries and applications for Way Leaves from various service providers
  • Determine costs for service connections infrastructure greater than 100A including upgrades, downgrades, and the relocation of existing services
  • Inspect the work quality and progress to ensure compliance to standard operating policies and procedures
  • Allocate work orders to contractors, perform administrative duties and investigate availability of material for the work to be executed
  • Comply with legislation and organisational policies to ensure effective implementation of Council resolutions with regards to risk and minimise the issues of non-compliance
  • Comply with budget cost, financial regulations, minimize expenditure and prevent financial loses
  • Ensure compliance with the Batho Pele principles, maintain good customer relations and efficient and productive service delivery
  • Provide effective and efficient management to maintain a high level of productivity
