Chapter 3
by Praise Malinga
The ultimate goal of every believer should be to see God, but this is only possible if we are clothed in righteousness. Without righteousness, we are naked before God, and our spiritual nakedness makes us unacceptable to Him.
Jesus said, Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3, NKJV). This means that without salvation, we cannot see God's kingdom, and without righteousness, we cannot see God.
The Bible teaches us that without holiness, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14, NKJV). This means that even if we have received righteousness and salvation, if we do not pursue holiness, we will not be able to see God.
Many believers receive righteousness and salvation, but they end there, without pursuing holiness. They think that because they are saved, they are automatically qualified to see God, but this is not true. We must pursue holiness, and maintain the clean state of our robe, lest we end up with filthy rags.
You may not understand the term "not see God", let me clarify it. Not see God means going to hell. Many Christians and ministers of the gospel end up in hell just because of not pursuing holiness.
As the apostle Paul wrote, I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship (Romans 12:1, ESV). We must present ourselves to God as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to Him, if we want to see Him.
Let us not be satisfied with just receiving righteousness and salvation, but let us pursue holiness, that we may see God and be in His presence forever.
Righteousness Unto Holiness
Romans 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
